Picked this up recently at Gary's in Madison, as I never had anything from American Solera before. This didn't quite taste like a typical Kolsch as the Passion Fruit made it feel more like a Gose as the grape and herbal notes were almost nowhere to be seen or felt here.
This beer had a milky, juicy golden hue to it that was muted but not dull as it was quite thin with a bit of dark sediment floating at the bottom of it. The spongy head was full of big bubbles as it quickly and quietly settled and not surprisingly, there wasn't any lacing to be seen as I worked my way through this. Lots of passion fruit in the nose, with some tropical fruit and floral notes underneath that as the taste was quite slick, juicy, and a bit exotic. Some fruit cocktail and canned juice entered the fray as this fully warmed up, with a nice amount of carbonation and basic, malty undertone rounding things out. Just a bit dank in the back, this was a fun and easygoing brew that didn't have much of any aftertaste to it.
It was also a session beer as I never felt or tasted the alcohol and had there been another can here, I would have easily cracked that open after emptying this out. Packaged on 7/13, no sediment was left in my glass as the fine bits were interspersed with the liquid. Nice label to this and nice to kick back with this, as I'm seeing more and more of their beers on shelves here. This certainly won't be the last that I have from them!

Non traditional German Kolsch, made with passion fruit. Its cloudy / unfiltered, tart and fruit with a hint of green herbal hops. Super juicy and very refreshing with a semi dry finish. Yum!
