650ml bottle - pretty simple - Wakatu hops (from New Zealand), and wheat ale, as per the label.

This beer pours a glassy, medium golden amber colour, with two fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat bubbly off-white head, which leaves some random splattered lace around the glass as it very slowly sinks away.

It smells of bready and doughy pale malt, a lesser cereal wheatiness, generic citrus rind, a touch of earthy yeast, and some plain leafy, weedy, and grassy green hop bitters. The taste is grainy and bready caramel malt, a still kind of wan wheaten character, muddled domestic citrus and some more exotic tropical fruitiness, ethereal dirty spice, a slightly phenolic yeastiness, and more leafy, grassy, and slightly floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is quite light on its fancy free frothy feet, the body a solid middleweight, and mostly smooth, with a nice aerosol creaminess arising as things warm up a bit out of the ol' beer fridge. It finishes off-dry, the caramel and robust fruitiness holding court.

Overall, this is a fairly tasty brew, if not particularly wheaty in its bearing - no big loss there. And the fruitiness brought by the Kiwi hops really lifts this one up, to the point of outright refreshment. Probably the best thing that this nascent Edmonton brewing concern has yet proffered, methinks.
