473ml can poured into tulip.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with half a finger of off-white head that leaves a bit of droopy lace as it recedes.

Smells of crispy wheat malt, orange juice, peppery yeast, coriander, muddled citrus zest and soft grassy hops.

Tastes of fresh white bread, more muddled citrus notes, soft black pepper and coriander and more gentle hoppy grassiness.

Feels light and zippy. Light bodied with frothy carbonation. Finishes off-dry.

Verdict: Recommended. Not a hell of a lot to say about it other than that it's pretty damn good. Tasty and refreshing.

650ml bottle - ok, does the 'B.S.' in the name stand for 'Bent Stick', or, um, something else?

This beer pours a hazy, medium golden apricot colour, with two fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly dirty white head, which leaves a bit of calving iceberg profile lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.

It smells of semi-sweet wheat malt, a lesser caramelized graininess, subtle domestic citrus rind, a bit of earthy yeastiness, and fairly weak black pepper and coriander/clove spiced notes. The taste is bready and doughy pale malt, some wet wheaten cereals, ephemeral muddled citrus peel, some fading phenolic yeast, and equally understated mixed peppercorn and coriander spice.

The carbonation is quite low in its left early 'cause it's a long weekend frothiness, the body a decent middleweight, and generally smooth, with a nice airy creaminess seeping in as things warm up a tad. It finishes off-dry, the blended malt pretty much the only lingering game in town.

Overall, this is a pleasant enough witbier, with the typical guest adjuncts not really doing much to stand up or stand out - no biggie. Easy to drink, and flavourful in a don't think about it and just go and finish the rest of that bomber sort of way, yeah?
