650ml bottle - this year's iteration, with, once again, no new info about what's inside.

This beer pours a murky, dark bronzed amber colour, with two skinny-ass fingers of weakly puffy, and mostly just bubbly beige head, which leaves a few instances of spidery web pattern lace around the glass as it quickly evaporates.

It smells of gritty and grainy cereal malt, candied orange and white grapefruit peel, some hard water flintiness, and more leafy, weedy, and piney green hop bitters. The taste is grainy and bready caramel malt, muddled domestic citrus rind, some under the stairs earthy mustiness, a damp minerality, and more leafy, herbal, and grassy verdant hoppiness.

The carbonation is average in its palate-satisfying frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and generally smooth, with nothing really getting in the way of a swell time at this particular juncture. It finishes off-dry, the malt and mixed frooty esters the order of the lingering day.

Overall - well, this is yet another sort of confusing offering from this outfit, who seem to revel in/not be aware (probably the latter) their style dumbfuckery. Anyways, this is a hoppy Barleywine, made with English yeast, and it shows. Not bad, but it inspires in me the resolve to call y'all out a bit more next year for this kind of thing.
