Not really sure what this really is - listed as a “New England Style Brown IPA” - nothing there seems right....
Pours a murky muddy brown - not horribly unlike the water after you have washed your car - with scant irregular khaki head.
Aroma is slightly metallic, grapefruit, and I think I detect acetone.
Taste hits the tongue with a caramel malt that almost instantly turns overwhelmingly bitter without any balancing sweetness - makes me think of spruce beers I have not enjoyed.
Medium bodied - carbonation is moderate - but the bitterness is too much. A rarity - I cannot finish the 11 oz pour I gave myself.
Looks terrible but may be best part of this beer - did I get a bad one?
