1900th review!

2022 version of this brew. First time sampling this. Sounds intriguing with a 70s twist based on the description.

Appearance - Pours a copper with four fingers of frothy white head.

Smell - earthy, citrus, piney, leafy, weedy, floral, and herbal hops, pine resin, grapefruit and citrus peel, tea aromas, bready malts, caramel, and earthy yeast.

Taste - earthy, citrus, piney, leafy, weedy, floral, and herbal hops upfront. The brew then goes into a pleasant bite from the pine resin. The grapefruit and citrus peel, tea aromas follow suit. The bready malts, caramel, and earthy yeast round out the brew.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with the hops, pine resin, and grapefruit peel lingering.

Overall - A solid West Coast IPA that delivers on the pine resin front. Initially, I was intrigued by the aromas as it suggested a mild west coast IPA; but when I tasted it it delivered on all cylinders. A pleasant tipple on this warm evening here in Cowtown.

Nice offering! A little less dank in character than the last one I had tasted in bottle, this the can and a different batch I believe. Carbonation crisp and balanced. Pine present and possibly understated. Overall excellent and worth trying....worth brewing too. Keep it up boys!

473ml can - I can't say that I was ever an art student, but I know a few, and some that are beer nerds like me, and well, this just seems appropriate for 'students of the Alley Kat legacy', in Edmonchuk.

This beer pours a mostly clear, pale golden yellow colour, with a teeming tower of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat creamy off-white head, which leaves some random paint splatter lace around the glass as it slowly sinks out of sight.

It smells of grainy and crackery pale malt, some orange and red grapefruit citrus rind, further indistinct tropical fruity notes, a hint of damp minerality, and some understated piney, leafy, and weedy green hoppiness. The taste is bready and cereal-forward malt, mixed domestic citrus flesh, a hint of wet stones after a hard downpour, and more tame earthy, leafy, and dank piney hop bitters.

The carbonation is average in its palate-satiating frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and quite smooth, in the sense of nothing really getting in the way of a good time here. It finishes trending dry, the hops asserting their lingering prowess.

Overall - well, I really have nothing more to add, other than these young go-getters have created another passable IPA, which, hey, works for me, especially their 'tude, in terms of marijuana, and the association with art teachers. If I could remember my last one, in grade 8, I would mention her, but, alas I cannot.

22 ounce bomber (yep still making bombers).
Pours a muddy cloudy amber colour with half finger off white head.
The aroma is musty, slightly skunky dank with over ripe pineapple and piney hops.
Taste follows with musk like dank pine, ripe pineapple, orange, caramel malt with a touch of skunk and hop bitterness at the finish.
Medium full mouthfeel - the carbonation is a tad underwhelming, but the dank bitterness that sits on the palate is quite pleasing.
A unique and enjoyable IPA. (BA Score on this was 4.02).

New release - now in cans - now a slightly hazy golden colour with still a dank and weedy aroma - slightly piney and floral. Tastes of weedy and leafy green hops, a bit floral and fruity, with a funky dank bitterness at the back. Carbonation is better - moderate - with a solid medium mouthfeel. Think an upgrade!
