On tap @ Pumphouse poured an opaque dark brown nearly black with a small lasting brown head. Aromas of dark fruit, bitter chocolate, carmel and light licorice. Palate was medium to full bodied smooth and warming. Flavors of milk chocolate, fruittiness, light vanilla and a hint of carmel with a smooth warming lingering bittersweet finish.

Growler from the brewery opened same day.
Very nice looking beer. Bllack with some dark browns around the edges. Thick espresso head with good retention.
Nose has a mixture of roasted black, caramel and chocolate malts. Heavy on the coffee with molasses. licorice, dark fruits and some floral hops.
Gain a big roasted and burnt malt profile. Starts off sweet with fruits and candy then finishes with bitter hops and molasses.
Big creamy body passes well over the tounge. Good carbonation and feel. Very chewy.
Well balanced and very drinkable. So smooth it can be enjoyed often with many pairings. Goes especially well with quality beef or elk.
