A crisp amber steam lager utilizing premium 2-row and Red X and lightly hopped with Amarillo hops. Like a fine West Texas Sunset, this beer embodies the spirit and boldness of Texas.

Dark copper, mostly clear, light tan head.
Caramel is prominent in the smell, there’s some grain and roastiness. The smell is outstanding.
It tastes slightly sweet, there’s a prominent roasted flavor that comes through. The caramel is there but not as much as I anticipated from the smell. I would guess the IBU is between 30-35. I think the IBU is a little high, it overpowers the malt somewhat. It’s still an amazing beer. I love amber ales and lagers, there’s not too many around nowadays. It’s not light by any means, I’d say the mouthfeel is solid medium. Very good

I am enjoying this beer with a great breakfast called The Morning After, as part of the Ralphie Saturday Morning Ritual.
Poured from a can into a shaker pint. Beautiful thick foamy head and great lacing. Bready, slightly fruity smell and taste. Very pleasantly malty. Nice mildly bitter finish. Full feel. A beer I intend to enjoy with other breakfasts!

Part of a mixed twelvesky.
I see this one is #27 in the style. Well I wouldn't argue that too much. It's refreshing with a solid malt base and a very nice hop profile. There's a little bit of bite too, with just a tinge of resin on the finish.
I could easily pick up a couple of sixers of this and BBQ on a Sunday afternoon.

Served on tap in a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a dark amber brown with a one finger head of white foam. THE head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a good sum of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is sweet of caramel and some harvest fruit smells. Along with these smells comes a sweeter brown bread aroma as well as a touch of a nuttiness.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweeter flavor of caramel and some lightly toasted bready and light brown bread tastes. Some other very light sweet tastes of apple and pear join the taste as well, giving a hint more sweetness. At the same time some nuttiness and a little bit of a herbal hop taste join at the end and leave one with a sweeter but easy going amber taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is a bit lighter to average with a carbonation level that is higher. For the mix of tastes the feel is nice and makes for an easy sippin brew.
Overall – A decent amber but nothing all that special in the end. Worth a try, but will likely not be going back to it any time soon.

Awsesome beer. The maltiness combines with a touch of hop floweriness. A light mouthfeel and tasty finish. They combine to make this beer one that you constantly want to take another sip of. A perfect definition of a Texas amber, with the flavor to provide hours of enjoyment and the right combination to quench that thirst for prime Texas brew. I have found no equal in this beer.
