just a shade closer to copper than most of their other saisons, this one features rye malt prominently, which really stands out above this insanely mild and almost disappointing wild yeast. their wild yeast was lacking in all their beer, neither funky or sour, real clean, and just not quite there yet, maybe not enough time, maybe not enough cells, i dont know, but its underdeveloped in all of them. here though, the rye is quite flavorful, and there is a bit of a farmhouse vibe to it with the malt and the slightly belgian yeast together. spicy for sure, almost in more ways than just the rye, and the hops are really juicy and tropical, maybe even some nelson in here, but definitely a southern hemisphere complexion, lemons and mangoes and even a guava juiciness thats nice with all the rye. a little heavier in both body and alcohol than many of the others on the menu, and you can certainly feel that weight, but its also better carbonated than a lot of them, and frankly seems like a more refined and complete beer, even if the wild element really is next to absent. cool beer, even if its not quite what they say it is...

This beer pours a fairly clear golden color. The head was fairly thick at first - 3 finger, and is frothy white. The nose is got some floral, and some citrus from hops. The taste is very interesting. There's some flavors I can't describe, to be honest. There's some sweetness to it. Slight amount of hops, that comes out on the way down. Seems like there's the floral element to it. You feel the carbonation going down, with just a slight hops aftertaste. Not watery feeling. Overall a good, solid beer.

Look: dark gold in color, light white head
Smell: pronounced floral hop aroma
Taste: Crisp, earthy, with that familiar rye spice
Feel: Crisp, but not too thin. Wild minds beers are very dry, with gravity finishing around 1.002 for some beers (not sure what this one was)

Interesting brew, will patiently wait for their wood aged beers to start rolling through!

At the tap room, served in a tulip. A little subdued for being "hoppy," but there's a lot of subtle and rustic flavor here, it's got a solid body, a very smooth almost chewy mouthful, and a very nice modest earthy funk. Nose is probably the highlight, but it's all pretty good. Considering these guys are just starting out, I'd say this is a very promising start.

On tap at the new taproom.
Rye and farmhouse aroma. Just what you want.
Mouthfeel and flavor follows suit. Subtle but definitely present rye and hops blended in a saisons type level of wild... not tart. Really balanced beer.

Poured a hazed golden yellow color with with a white head and streaks of lacing it looks good. smells of yeast light citrus and spice, taste was spicy ale with slight funk and a good amount of citrus hops, did not taste the rye so much, a dry mouth feel with a hoppy finish.
