Probably not a Belgian IPA, but wasn't sure where to put it... At the brewery into a pint glass, pours an attractive burnished shiny amber with a decent head that subsides quickly. Nose suggests a lot of floral and earthy yeasty notes, as well as some grapefruit and orange....some depth, there, but not the punch I expected from the tons of fresh cascade hops that supposedly contributed to this one. Taste is better with several waves including some more floral notes, some dry hay and biscuity malt, some bubblegum, and an undercurrent of citric tartness. Middling body and carb. This is interesting...as with other beers from these guys, it promises local prairie terroir, and it is definitely distinctive and made well enough. Not sure if I'll be back, but glad I tried. Not sure I'd know it was fresh hopped.
