This version of Velvet Crush has the additions of mango and passion fruit.
Poured from a crowler with a fill date of 3/16(2018).
Murky pale gold colored body. Fizzy pure white head quickly dissipates to thin cap and ring. No lacing.
Aroma of passion fruit and mango (tropical and slightly sweet).
Taste has the passion fruit and mango components. Slightly bitter hops. Has some wild qualities as do most of the beers from Wild Mind.
Medium mouth feel, also medium carbonation.
I see that Velvet Crush is placed in the style of an American IPA and that is okay, but this beer is really on the fringes of that style. Has some bitter hops but the added fruits add non-traditional tastes and the wild nature broaden the style. I cannot recommend a better style for classification of this beer. Let's just commend Wild Mind for making good beer, regardless of in what style a particular beer may land.
