Aged on pomegranate puree in red wine barrels for more than a year, Arillus packs a major pomegranate punch. This golden sour was blended to balance the acidity of the base beer with the sweet, tart flavor of the fruit.

Poured from 750ml bottle into glass.
Body color is pomegranate (pinkish red). Clear body. Overwhelming foaminess upon pouring. Head color is mostly white with a pinkish tint. Receding foam leaves behind strings of lacing.
Aroma features tart lemon, slightly sweeter pomegranate, and oak barrel.
Taste includes the golden sour, along with the sweeter berry flavor. Not real sweet but the balance steers away from a puckering mouth experience. Also includes the tannins of the oak barrel. A woody, earthy flavor is supported by the pomegranate and the oak.
Very light and fizzy mouth feel. Very high level of carbonation. Each pour brings forth a big amount of foamy head.
A well blended fruity sour, with the fruity aspect coming from the berry of the pomegranate. The berry taste is slightly different from that of cherry, strawberry, or raspberry (quite a bit more earthy).
