Dante melds together sweet, sour, and spicy in a red wine barrel-aged dark sour blend with raspberry, cocoa nibs, and ancho chiles added post-fermentation. The roasty sour base balances the sweet and tart flavors of the cocoa and raspberries with subtle smoke and heat from the ancho chiles to build complexity.

Poured from 750ml bottle into glass. No dating information on bottle.
Almost opaque, very dark red/black colored body. Minimal dark pink head, but slight ring is constantly fed by rising bubbles. No lacing.
Dark raspberry fruit aroma, with background whiffs of cocoa.
Taste is more balanced with raspberry and cocoa, with both flavors bouncing back and forth during the taste profile. Has a faint vegetal pepper flavor also.
The chiles express most in the mouth feel, with a sting on the tongue and throat, which is not excessively warm but is definitely there. The sting fades away with the rest of the taste profile, but re-appears with every sip. Good carbonation also.
Quite the inventive recipe to mix the red fruit raspberry with the cocoa, along with the sting of the chiles. Divides the tasting sensation among the three, one moment tart raspberry fruit, next moment is slighty sweet and bean contrast of the cocoa, and then the chile sting. Would be a good pairing with mole chicken and savory meat/vegetable shish kebobs.
