Purchased as a crowler on 3/31/2018. Can is marked for fill date as '3/27'.
Opaque black colored body. Slight light tan, fizzy head quickly dissipates. No lacing.
Aroma of dark roasted malts and wafting alcohol.
Taste introduces dark roast coffee, some dark fruit tang, and slight saltiness (as a brine taste).
Medium mouth feel. Rather low carbonation. Rather dry finish, along with the salt.
Marked on the can as 'CSB', with an ABV of 11.3%. Very little information found on the Wild Mind website, and social media pages. I cannot recall having a salted stout before. I think the salt acts as a flavor enhancer, the same way salt does on food. The beer does not have much of an aroma, but the base stout is quite tasty. As far as I know this particular described beer was not offered in the tap room. Overall, the experience is subdued but positive rather than negative, but not like I would be out searching for this beer. More like an experiment for Wild Mind, but I would like to find more information about the beer.
