Spontaneously fermented in our custom-built coolship. Spontane Framboise is our wild take on a classic style. Blended from several barrels, this raspberry sour toes the line between tart and acidic with plenty of funk to back it up.

Dark red mostly opaque body with a thick white collar. Tons of tart raspberry both fruit and skin/seed, with flowers, slight funk, oak, lemon zest, and more raspberry. Taste has a touch more funk, but otherwise plays the same, great depth while staying pure to the raspberry. Body is a little more carbonated than optimal, but still very tart, somewhat funky, and oak laden. Great take on the framboise

2019 vintage. This one is a blend of 1 and 2 year old fermented ales. It pours black cherry in color with very little head. Tart raspberry with wild fruit jam sourness mixes well with a ton of fresh raspberry.

Poured from 750ml bottle into glass. First available in June of 2018.
Clear, red raspberry colored body. Final pour brought in some end of bottle material that caused the beer body to turn murky. Fizzy head upon each pour quickly disappears. There remains a partial thin ring fed by rising bubbles. No lacing.
Aroma is tart raspberry and lemon. The raspberry aroma has a full berry profile, from skin to juice.
Taste is semisweet raspberry, but also tart, and with some tongue fizziness. The funk is deep within the taste profile and much of its expression is in the dry finish.
Medium mouth feel, with lots of carbonation throughout. Dry finish.
An admirable attempt to blend a wild, sour beer with a full expression of raspberry. The raspberry flavors are authentic and layered. Not an enamel scraper but tart where it needs to be. The presentation in the glass during each pour is impressive, as the bubbles rise, fizz, and then disappear back into the body. Overall, a positive drinking experience.
