Love is in the air with these two Hindu gods of love. What began as a traditional IPA with malted and flaked oats and Mosaic, Amarillo, and Centennial hops morphed into anything but traditional with the addition of raspberry and cacao nibs. The raspberry complements the hops' fruit character to create a lush, fruity palate along with the slightly bitter chocolate note on the finish.

$12 crowler purchased at the taproom, from the takeout cooler. Fill date of '2/14(2019)'.
Murky body with the color of raspberry and rhubarb. Slight off white, pinkish head quickly turns into an interesting interrupted mosaic on the surface, and a thin bubble fed ring. No lacing.
Aroma of fruity body odor, but this is not totally off putting. Probably a combo of the cacao and the raspberry.
Taste is near sour, with the initial flavor being a unsweetened pineapple/raspberry collision, and the unsweetened cacao emerging at the end. The after taste is a combination of the fruit and cacao. There are hops involved here somewhere, but are somewhat masked by the fruit and cacao.
Medium plus mouth feel, with a thick texture. Good carbonation. No apparent alcohol.
This is a very interesting fruit beer, with the addition of cacao. Quite unsweetened throughout. Perhaps should be classified as a "Fruit And Field" beer. The thicker texture extends the time of the beer profile, and allows real exploration of the flavors involved. Rather odd, but I like the beer. Quite glad that lactose is not an ingredient.
