Forgotten Barrel Society: Alligator Char (2018). Aged in bourbon barrels for more than a year provides this sour with a oaky, charred flavor to pair with a lightly tart vanilla finish. Coming in at nearly 10% ABV, this Forgotten Barrel is not for the faint of heart.

750ml bottle.
Clear, deep gold colored body. Brief fizzy white head. No lacing.
Aroma is that of funky lemon. No real barrel presence.
Taste is sour, with the flavors of lemon and green apple. From the mid point on, the smooth vanilla and smoky oak from the barrel comes in. The aftertaste really brings out the barrel notes, which smooths out the initial sourness.
Medium mouth feel, with a slight initial puckering. Very good carbonation. Higher ABV% is well hidden.
This beer has some depth and changing of flavors from the initial sip to the aftertaste. Overall this is a successful brewing project, and shows what a wild ale can be from barrel aging.
