Cellar Swears: Galaxy and Motueka

Blend of one and three year spontaneously fermented ales, then dry-hopped with Galaxy and Mot, according to the tap room description. Looks pretty awesome in the snifter…kind of a dull but glowering dandelion yellow. Nose brings some nice wet pale bready biscuity malt (?) and some earthy almost peppery yeast. Definitely getting some woodiness with the taste, as well as a good burst of flavor…kind of somewhere strange in between funky and tart and hoppy sweet (this is a good hop combo for me), but not really landing very squarely in any of those places. Finish has a little lively zippiness, but the mouthful is also slightly sticky and wet and heavy for only being 5.2%. Glad I tried it.
