This 12.6% ABV American style barleywine is brewed with a base of Maris Otter and a blend of our favorite English and German specialty malts. We fermented it at nearly 100 degrees with Hornindal Kveik for complex ester expression.
Don't let the hefty ABV scare you off - Terror Bird is supremely smooth. Its rich notes of toffee, rum soaked tobacco, fruit cake, and sherry will take your senses on a journey.

It's a plenty sweet. It's smooth and tasty. Taste is Plum & toffee, plus a little stone washed dark fruit, and maybe vanilla. ABV is well hidden. Oddly the finish doesn't end very sweet. Easy drinking for the ABV.

Brewery description promises notes of toffee, plum, caramel, and vanilla. That’s pretty spot on, though I don’t get much vanilla, and the toffee is faint, not the chewy ideal. Served in a wine glass. Nice off white head on top of a clear coppery brown body…looks great. Nose is mainly faint tart plum and a little toffee and caramel. Taste: this is pretty sweet, a little too sweet for me, both the plum (which is a little underdeveloped) and the caramel. Not much zip from the hops, and not as much depth of flavor as great versions of the style have, but i’m not going to kick it out of bed. Sits and lingers very nicely on the tongue…kind of a toffee marshmallow sweetness…also some juicy tobacco. However, it doesn’t really have much of a focused finish. As big as it is, it doesn’t feel heavy, at all. I’d be curious to know if it would gain some depth with a couple of years in the cellar.
