This is a hop bill that includes some favorites, in a style that I never entirely know what to make of. All in all, it’s a pretty great version of the style: there’s some definite citrus, even more piney slash floral notes, and fairly mild roasted malt. I don’t get much in the way of chocolate, but it is a fairly smooth and even creamy mouthful. Bitterness is pleasant to me…maybe 6 or 7 out of 10. Dry (but not bone dry) on the finish.

16oz can, purchased at the tap room. No dating information found.
Dark brown colored body, with a reddish back lit edge. Light tan head, which transitions to an island and ring.
Aroma of pine resin, roasted malts, and grapefruit. Slight spicy note that goes to black licorice.
Taste has a real pine resin back bite. Close to a smoked, certainly roasted, malt flavor. The spicy and black licorice appear also.
Thicker than medium mouth feel, with a creamy texture. Causes some dryness in the mouth, from the long pine resin experience. Supportive carbonation.
Really has a wide expression of flavors, and a plus mouth feel.
