Pours a clear caramel color. Despite the head being large and foamy, it dissipates quickly.
Malt forward aromas display bready, biscuity and caramel notes. However, there is also some fragrance in the nose, as hops and yeast show notes of fruit, honey, floral and grassy hops, and slightly earthy.
The taste is malt forward with bready and caramel sweetness, as well as notes of biscuit, honey and jammy fruit. The palate is semi dry with a crisp finish. The bitterness is just enough for balance. Moderately spicy with notes of grass, earth and a touch of resin. There is also a touch of alcohol spice, which adds a kick.
Medium bodied with a semi crisp mouthfeel. The carbonation is moderate.
This was a decent Oktoberfest/Marzen. Nothing remarkable but easy to drink and appropriate for style.
