On tap at Revelation Brewing, Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Pours a mahogany brown color with hints of garnet and ruby red. A modest head quickly dissipates.
The aromas exhibit rich malt notes of toasty and nutty malts. There is a very subtle sweetness with aromatics that evoke chocolate, dark fruit, toffee and caramel. A pleasant noble hops aroma emits earthy and floral spices.
Medium bodied with a crisp and clean lager like feel, yet with an ale fullness. The malt profile is dry and clean, yet with an understated complexity that includes flavors of dark toasted bread, nutty biscuit, caramel and dark fruit. Well balanced with a moderate bitterness and floral and earthy hops spices that evoke a fruity brightness and woodsy flavors. The carbonation is moderate and the finish is dry with a lingering bitterness.
I really enjoyed drinking this and it is so far my favorite offering from Revelation Brewing. I wish more breweries would make this style, of which I’m not much of an expert.
