On draught at the brewery. Pours a dark chestnut brown, nearly black color. A modest foam head dissipates and yields some good lacing.
The nose is all about the malts, toasty, biscuity and freshly baked bread. There is also a touch of chocolate and a hint of nutty roast.
Malt forward yet not too sweet, as it is splendidly balanced. Clean flavors of toast, biscuit and a hint of chocolate align with the aromas. There is a gentle bitterness, from the hops and lightly roasted/nutty malts, that nevertheless packs a gentle kick.
Medium bodied and smooth. The finish is lightly crisp and roasty. The carbonation is moderate to gentle.
Delightful Munich Dunkel Lager. I would have again.
