A classic doppelbock, brewed with 100% Munich malt for a dark copper color and a caramel note on the palate. We add Mosaic hops, then lager cold for weeks to bring it to full maturity. Smooth and refreshing, it's the perfect lager to welcome spring. Prost!

12oz can with a code of *** (opened 1-19-19)
Amber, chestnut color bock with a 1/4" off-white sandy colored head. The head persists at a cap and no lace.
Toasted and sweet grainy malt aroma...the Mosaic blueberry character is noticeable here.
Rich malt flavor, comes on sweet but doesn't stay that way. The Mosaic seems out of place at first but it's definitely a unique twist here - a hybrid of sorts. Lots of berry over the rich malt.
Full bodied and smooth mouthfeel. Lower carbonation.
Interesting seasonal, not traditional. Will break it down further with the other 5 cans.

CAN from a Total Wine & More in Austin ran me $1.99 USD.
Brewed with Munich malt and Mosaic hops. "Doppelbock."
7.0% ABV.
Far from true to style, but not altogether undrinkable.
Who thought a Mosaic hopped doppelbock would turn out either traditional or good in the first place?
