Formerly called "Schwarzwald Maidle"
Brewed according to historical models for the brewery's 225th anniversary.
This naturally cloudy beer is brewed according to historical models. Like all Rothaus beers with our soft brewing water, quality malt from the region and aromatic hops from Tettnang and the Hallertau.
“In the nose you can immediately recognize the signature Rothaus signature: the fresh alpine herb meadow, accentuated with light grain and yeast notes and a hint of lemon. Very fresh and stimulating. The beer says goodbye with a nice interplay between honey and lemon.

Copenhagen 21/9 2023. 33 cl bottle brought home by my in-laws. Rathaus’ usual design with a stylized beer maiden holding two cups of beer.
Pours slightly unclear pale yellow with a big white head. Settles as 0,2 cm thick layer of foam just covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with a bit salty lightly salted scent and a mineral metallic scent. Sweet pale malts, bacon and a bit of salt.
Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, watery, lightly tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a slightly more moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweetish. Lingers for a bit. Finish is malty and a bit flat.
A bit generic Kellerbier.

Ligth, pale, hazy color. Medium thick foam. Recedes quickly. Fresh citruisy/grassy smell, yeast. Body is very light, but not watery. Low carbonation, Lemon in taste. Sweet. Low bitterness. A very complex unusual beer. Worth trying. A very interesting look on Kellerbier.

A hearty, yeasty, floral beer with classic Zwickel flavor that drinks so well. Another delicious lager from this brewery. Will definitely make it down to their facility in the Black Forest.

From supermarket in Schwarzwald Germany. Hazy yellow with a finger layer of foam. Medium thick bodied, almost creamy, with a deep taste. Tastes very good. Not too overpowering in any aspects. Amazingly balanced beer.

Had this beer while in Heidelberg Germany. Poured from tap. Golden color, and a hoppy smell. Enjoyed with a bratwurst. Good mouth feel with good carbonation. Should have ordered another.

Hazy light golden color with white head. Aroma is quite hoppy with floral and grassy notes. Taste starts with bready malt sweetness, gets a bit astringent and lactic in the middle and finishes with floral hop bitterness. Medium body and carbonation. A pretty interesting beer with good hops/malt balance.

33cl bottle (Three months before sell-by date)
This has that sour/dry thing going on that I've come across before with kellerbiers (fwiw I havent had many). Has taken getting used to in other kellerbiers I've had, but this one is easy to drink, very well balanced, subtle, a little sour low, dry high in the mouth in the carbonation.
What really impresses is the mouthfeel:
thick, smooth, balanced by really fine carbonation. Lovely.
Need another one or two to tease out the tastes. More importantly, would love another couple of these for the drinking pleasure.
Would like to give taste and smell same score, but arbitrarily gave taste more to get the desired score.
