A: Pours a clear medium to dark copper in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate medium golden yellow + burnt orange + honey colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall sudsy foamy off-white head that reduces to a large patch of mottled thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Just shy of significant amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of citrus/grapefruit rind, citrus/grapefruit pith, pine/resin, and herbal hops over the top of light to moderate aromas of toasted + caramel malts with a light amount of sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of toasted + caramel malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of citrus/grapefruit, citrus/grapefruit rind, citrus/grapefruit pith, tropical/mango, pine/resin, and herbal hops which impart a slightly stronger than moderate amount of aggressive bitterness which lingers through the finish.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Crisp upfront with a light amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. A very enjoyable classic West Coast IPA with a traditional hop profile and just enough malt presence and sweetness. Definitely worth grabbing and I could easily have another of these - nice to enjoy the throwback after so many NEIPAs recently.
