Another excellent canned ITB release from Barrel House Z that I obtained in a trade. I can easily understand why this brew won their annual home brew contest (per information on the can). I'm a big fan of amber/red ales and I'm hoping this will be more than a one-time release. Attractive reddish color with lasting foam. Medium body, well carbonated and good malt/hop balance. 6.3% ABV seems just right for this brew.

I'll be looking for this one to purchase more than a single can when I next travel to eastern MA.

No canning date

Pours a nice creamy foamy 1+ finger head that fades slowly 27th decent foamy lacing darkish mahogany red color amber hue little light

Nose toasty mildly sweet amber malts, a little toasty caramel brown malt, little toffee and brown sugar, little candy, fair sweet aroma, grassy herbal hops, an interesting tart fruitiness

Taste starts with more sweet malts, plenty of toasted brown malts and amber reddish malts, a little biscuit toffee and brown sugar, but also tangy yeasty under attenuated when canned and continued to ferment, mild grassy earthy hop in the background, mild sticky slight bitter finish

Mouth is med bod, bright tingly carbonation

Overall not bad base beer, plenty of malts, little nice hop in the background, only flaw is the tangy yeasty originally under attenuated thing.

16 oz. canned on 4/17/17

Pours hazy dark amber red with a creamy khaki colored foam head. Smell like dark berries, plum, melons, apricot, orange citrus, grapefruit, caramel, toasted biscuity roasty malts, molasses, brown sugar, toffee, spice, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Tastes like blueberries, blackberry, plum, melons, apricot, orange citrus, grapefruit, caramel, toasted biscuity roasty malts, molasses, brown sugar, toffee, spice, with floral earthy herbal grassy pine. Feels medium-light bodied, creamy and slick with moderate low carbonation. Overall a really nice amber ale.
