Pours a huge frothy bubbly head that fades slowly, lots of sticky lacing, mostly clear amber color.
Nose loads of barrel, like bourbon right from the barrel, tons of toasted buttery oak, sweet rummy like whiskey, big buttery oak, some mild toasted reddish malt and beer aromas.
Taste brings loads more barrel, loads of buttery oak again, a little toasted oak and vanilla, lots of whiskey, again sweet whiskey almost rum like, fresh barrel juice, with some sweet candy reddish malt, a little spicy rye somehow comes through, and bit of bitterness.
mouth is med bod, fluffy carb, a little sweet syrupy sticky.
Overall if you like bourbon its a great beer, but I feel that the beer itself is just destroyed by the barrel, not a beer made for aging in fresh barrels really, even for a short time. However, I love bourbon so I will def enjoy it.
