Hmm, another rum barrel, hopefully better than the other one. Bottled 1/12/17, batch 6
light fizzy small head typical for the abv fades quickly with little lacing, decent legs too, clear bright ruby color.
Nose seems more of the barrel than the rum, a little sweet sugary rum, but a bit of charred toasted oak as well, and some vanilla from the barrel, a little sweet candy malt, toasted reddish grain and toffee caramel notes, sweet syrup
Taste brings lots of vanilla barrel again, a little sweet sugary rum but an almost bourbon note to it, probably because of the sweet barrel notes, toasted oak, a little charred oak, vanilla etc, but fruity too, a tropical island sweet sugary fruit flavor, sugar can rum, molasses, white candi sugar, syrup, candied fruit, a little white raisin, touch of baking spices probably from the barrel as well, plenty of toffee and caramel late, alittle sticky sweet finish, hint of booze warmth.
Mouth is med to a bit fuller bod, just a touch of booze warmth, nice creamy small bubble carb again.
Overall much better than the first, base beer was pretty good, very little booze this time, lots of fun barrel characters.

On-tap 2/10/2017 at Natty Greeneās Tavern in North Attleboro, MA, served in a tulip glass.
A: The beer is a deep coppery red color, with a large off-white head that fades very slowly and leaves a very thick lace on the glass.
S: The aroma contains rum, fruit, caramelized malts, some honey and some hops.
T: The taste starts out sweet with flavors of rum, caramel, fruit and honey. Then a hearty malt character comes in. The hops presence is mild but complementary and brings a very good balance. The after-taste is slightly sweet.
M: Crisp and very smooth, medium body, medium carbonation, finish is slightly sticky.
O: Very tasty, goes down very easily, not too filling, good kick, good variation of style, this is a very solid flavorful beer to drink for a long time.
