Sampling a cold growler poured into my snifter. the beer pours a jet black color with a dark tan to brown creamy dense head of 2 cm. The foam faded very quickly to nothing after the pour. The aroma is lots of roasted malt and dark cocoa. Some coffee grounds and a bit of charred notes mixed in as well. I dont get any hops on the nose for this beer.
The first sip reveals an average body with fine and gentle carbonation that is almost cask like and non-existent. Easy drinking physical traits on this beer. texture is a little sticky after each swallow.
Flavor is all malt, with roasted notes and dark chocolate coming out first and then some good char notes and coffee grounds come through too. The coffee ground lingers and is actually fairly bitter, still no hops this is a black coffee kinda bite and definitely sticks around. A little bit acidic here too. I dont get any hints of the booze and find this stout very drinkable, but the char could be a little much if you arent really into that flavor profile.
NIce sessionable stout.

Preface this review by saying that I should have read the description. I saw "breakfast stout" and bought it, because I like them. The brewers were kind enough to mention it is a stout with lighter mouthfeel and that it was sessionable. That description would have scared me a away had I read it.
Pours jet black. Cola-like head that lasts a minute or so.
Smell- Faint coffee but primarily roastred malts
Tastes really earthy. Burnt coffee and acid. Not great tasting. The aftertaste is acidic.
Mouthfeel-Again, they were kind enough to warn me, but it is light and thin and not at all stout-like.
Overall- One of the lesser stouts I;ve had. Probably the worst breakfast stout I've had.

It is the ocCANsion of New Beer Sunday (Week 682) & I am CANducting a brewery horizontal of Tattered Flag Brewery in advance of my planned visit on W, 28 March 2018. Viva The CANQuest (tm)!
From the CAN: "Answer your countries' [sic] call. Buy Warbonds [sic] and support your local Veteran owned brewey [sic]! This easy drinking coffee stout will supply your ration of delicious. Replenish Our Supply [sic], support the effort, and Recycle [sic] this can. Keep Refrigerated [sic]."; "Buy War Bonds Coffee Breakfast Stout"; "Keep 'em Loaded".
Wow! They CAN really use a proofreader. If only they knew of a Navy retiree in the area with a B.A. in English Literature ...
I Crack!ed the CAN open & began a slow, gentle Glug, but when nothing seemed to be amiss, I increased the flow into the awaiting glass. This was a mistake on my part as it seemed to suddenly erupt with an unCANtrollable amount of foam. It finally settled into just under three fingers of foamy, soapy, rocky, deep-brown head with poor retention that quickly fell away to wisps. Color was Black/Opaque (SRM = 44), allowing ZERO light penetration. Nose was roasty, but I was put in mind of baker's/baking chocolate, rather than coffee. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was definitely coffee, but I also got a grainy dustiness of baker's chocolate, which was nice, but I would have preferred that the coffee be a bit more assertive, since it was prominent on the label. Finish was dry, coffee-like and certainly pleasant after a day of Stouts & whisky for St. Patrick's Day.

Can into a tulip appears black in color with dark brown head that fades quick.
Aroma has some mineral character upfront blending to earth, char, roast, tobacco and faintest coffee.
Taste sadly has that mineral note right upfront almost tin-like metallic with bitter roastiness and a touch of citrus.
Light in body with modest carbonation. Its not that good.
