Sampling a cold crowler filled at the brewpub. The beer pours a dark cola brown color with fizzy beige head foaming up and fading to absolutely nothing soon after the pour. Wish the head stayed around a bit longer on the beer.
The aroma is lots of roasted malt and some dark chocolate and a bit of sweet milk chocolate too. Nice rich malty notes on this brew's nose, with no real hop presence to speak of.
The first sip reveals a smooth textured and medium bodied beer with fizzy yet gentle carbonation that rolls across my palate on each sip.
The flavor is rich and malty with some roasted notes and a bit of sweet brown sugar and chocolate mixed together. I dont get any booze nor hops on this beer, making it a malt lovers brew. After each swallow I find a lingering sweet chocolate late flavor that coats my palate. This is an easy drinking beer for 7.2% and also enjoyable for a malty such as myself. Go get some if you need a break from alpha acids and juice bombs!
