330ml bottle served in a tulip. Pours two shades shy of black with a fluffy, fizzy, one-inch, khaki-colored head embedded with pinpricks. Head gradually dissipates and disperses leaving no lacing; however, the cap is refreshed with a swirl of the glass. Nose expresses notes of dark chocolate, vanilla and a kiss of roast. There's also a hint of black or brewer's licorice towards the back. Taste consistent with nose; however, carbonation is so assertive that it alters and impacts the flavor. Mouthfeel is light in body; however, this beer is gassy and over-carbonated to the point that it's somewhat difficult to quaff and leaves a residual burn at the back of the throat. Aggressive swirling does little to dissipate the carbonation. Overall, if the carbonation was dialed in, this would be a solid 3.75. Not much in the way of creme brûlée character. This beer would probably be interesting on-cask.
