Having this beer on-tap at the brewery. This beer draws a clear, medium to dark gold/copper color with a white head that’s about an inch thick when first drawn and served. Settles to a medium sized ring lining the inside of the glass along with some light lacing. Aromas of smoked, bready malts and some hints of caramel along with some floral, earthy, and piney hops. The taste is pretty much the same, with Smokey, bready, zesty malts with a hint of caramel sweetness that’s followed by some earthy and floral, slightly piney hop bitterness. Nice balance of flavors, and the smoked malts really add something unique to the flavor profile here, as there aren’t too many smoked Pale Ales out there, at least not that I’ve had. Has a crisp, smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation and a clean finish. Slightly dry aftertaste and the smoked malts hang around the palate for awhile nicely after each sip. A good beer here.

Poured on tap at the brewery
A: Orangeish brown with a thin head
S: A bit light, though generic malts/hops and a distinct smokiness are there
T: Herbal, quite smoky, plenty of malt and light hops
M: Medium-bodied, crisp and smoky
O: A solid beer, unique and my favorite of Goldhorn's initial lineup
