Having this beer on-tap at the brewery. Served in a snifter, this beer draws a very dark brown, practically black color with a tan head that’s about 1/2 inch thick when first drawn and served. Settles to a fairly thick ring lining the inside of the glass along with some very nice lacing. Aromas of roasted, grainy malts with a bit of caramel sweetness and certainly also a bit of booziness. Also some piney, earthy hops. The taste is pretty much the same, with some roasted, grainy malts with a hint of caramel sweetness that gives way to some booziness. Rounded out with one piney, earthy, and slightly floral hops that add some nice balance to the overall flavor profile with a hint of bitterness. Has an overall crisp, yet also smooth, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Easy to drink in the way good beer ought to be. Has a clean finish.
