Having this beer on nitro tap at the brewery. Served in a pint glass, this beer draws a very dark brown, practically black color with slightly tan, obviously very creamy looking head that’s about an inch thick when drawn and served. Excellent lacing and good head retention here too. Head eventually settles to a medium sized white ring lining the inside of the glass. Aromas of roasted malts for sure and some earthy, floral hops and not much else smell wise. And that’s okay here. The taste is very similar, with a. If roasted malt flavor that has a bit of caramel sweetness. Hints of dark chocolate and black coffee are also present along with floral and earthy hops that provide just the right amount of additional bitterness for this style of beer. Has a slightly crisp, mainly smooth, frothy, and creamy, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has a clean, somewhat dry, roasty finish and aftertaste. Spot on for the style.

16oz plastic cup poured at the brewery on St Patrick's Day. On nitro
A: Pitch black with a creamy 1/2 finger tan head
S: Dry, roasted malt, a bit creamy
T: Fits the style perfectly. Mixed roast levels of grain, moderate bitterness and a bit of cream
M: Medium-bodied, smooth
O: This could stand up with the best of the style. Very tasty, great texture, well made
