This beer is a heavy metal themed beer brewed in tribute to and in conjunction with the Cleveland heavy metal band Destructor, and this beer is named after/in tribute to the band's song "Pounding Evil" off of their 1985 debut album "Maximum Destruction." On Sunday 9/15/2019 there was a release party for this beer and heavy metal concert at the brewery featuring Destructor and several other Cleveland area bands.

Had this beer on-tap at the brewery yesterday and got a growler of it to take home. Poured into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a clear, medium golden color with a white head that's initially an inch thick when first poured. Head eventually settles to a nice, thick film surface layer of foam along with a thick ring lining the inside of the glass and good lacing. Aromas of some slightly toasted, bready malts with come nice caramel sweetness that gives way to some piney, earthy, floral hop bitterness. Has a very similar flavor profile, with some slightly toasted, bready malts with a decent amount of caramel sweetness upfront that gives way to the aforementioned earthy, floral, slightly piney hop bitterness. This has very good balance overall, and the hop bitterness factor is a slow creeper there, as I felt the hop bitterness become slowly embedded more in my palate about 5-10 seconds after each sip. So the hop bitterness does dominate slightly here overall. Very nice. Has crisp, yet smooth and somewhat creamy, medium bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Has clean finish with the hoppy flavors hanging out on my palate for the aftertaste. A very nice beer all around here!
