Poured out of a 12 oz. can into one of my pint glasses, this beer pours a medium, fairly clear, just slightly cloudy/hazy, copper color w/ a just slightly off-white head that's a good inch thick when first poured that settles eventually to a very thick layer of surface foam coating, a very thick ring lining the inside of the glass at the beer's surface, and very excellent lacing indeed. Aromas of some bready, smoked malts w/ some caramel sweetness that gives way to slightly citrusy, earthy, herbal hop notes. The flavor profile is very much the same, w/ smoked, bready malts w/ some caramel sweetness that's followed by slightly citrusy, earthy, herbal hop notes. Good balance of flavors overall, but the hop flavors do dominate slightly. Has a crisp, smooth, frothy, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation/ Finishes clean and slightly dry, and the flavors linger nicely on my palate for awhile after each sip.
