A: A feverish pitch of effervesce rises rapidly within a bright, juicy orange juice colored body. Milky thick and dense in nature a solid foam structure off white in color sits comfortably atop. At one inch standing the head displayed an amazing rate of retention. Really beautiful dank coloring sets the tone.
S: Fresh and fruity pineapple and pear juice is first on the nose. Fresh orange slices, kiwi-strawberry and mangoes are fresh and juicy as well contributing well to the style. A nice strong level of awareness.
T: Bittering orange and dank citrus delivers a very good opening bite. Kiwi-strawberry, melon, and passion fruit contribute and is very prominent. Dank tropical pineapple and oranges are strongly noted. Some peach and dank juicy hop resins round out.
M: Very slick and slippery, less then medium consistency with a good crisp carbonation factor.
O: Really good dank tropical and juicy dipa with a bright flavor and strong first good impression. Outstanding drinkability, with a wide range of hop flavors, all fresh, juicy, and mouthwatering. Great visual, aromatic and tasting. The flavor warrants alone the price of admission and seeking out.

Decadent Ales "Pog Nog"

Notes via stream of consciousness: Well I smelled some pretty intensely resinous hops just upon opening the can so that's a good sign. Great label art BTW. It's poured a cloudy golden orange body beneath a finger thick head of white foam that seems to be holding very well. Ahhh, sorry, I'm mistaken, it's starting to fall. I should have guesses and its got a lot of larger bubbles and isn't that dense. It's still there though, becoming rocky at this point, so that's pretty decent especially compared to beers across the world. Moving on, the aroma is a little musty, or truly dank, and there's still the hop resin and some tropical/citrusy and piney notes. It's not as intense as I thought it would be though. OK, on to the flavor, it's surprisingly sweet. It's sweeter than I'd have expected, and juicy, but sweeter than a real juice. It's a bit honeyish. I'm finding notes of orange, pineapple, mango, passionfruit, guava, berries, and papaya. The resins remain, mainly appearing in the finish and helping it to dry a bit, along with some mild pine, some grassiness, and a touch of pepperiness. I have to say though, even as a NE IPA I'm finding this a bit unbalanced and leaning towards the sweet side. It also seems to me like there's some lactose there but that's not listed on the label. It's medium leaning towards medium-full with a very dextrinous body. I guess this is a double NE IPA so it could just be malt but the mouthfeel also suggests lactose to me. There's a flicker of alcohol that I feel helps it, but otherwise it's very well hidden. How strong is this? 8.6% abv, that makes sense. In my opinion this could use a little more carbonation to help the head stay up (there was no lacing left behind), lends some more bristle to the tongue, and help to dry it in the finish but that's just my opinion. As it is I feel it's OK. Better than OK, it's a pretty big and fruity/hoppy ale. That immediately for me bumps it well above average, but once you get up into the higher echelon it falters. Still I thought it was pretty decent (I still have about a fifth of it left), and I'd consider sampling it again.

LOOKS: Opaque, but not a milkshake. One finger of off white head that lasts. Mild lacing.
AROMA: Mostly citrus. Grapefruit, orange and lemon.
TASTE: Ditto, and a nice cracker bread malt.
FEEL: Average carbonation, medium body, and medium dry.
OA: I need another, in a little while.
