More hops, more coconut and higher ABV than our standard Coconut Almond Macaron. Our DIPA dry hopped with mosaic hops. We then added coconut, almonds, and a variety of sugars to create a biscuit character.

Poured a pint can of this into a clear Imperial pint glass. It definitely has a sweet coconut smell added the IPA aroma. The color is a blond amber with a nice off-white head. The taste is sweet, but much less sweet than expected, considering the ingredients. Some glass lacing follows the chase of the ale to the bottom of the glass. It's not overly hoppy, but hops are there, especially at the conclusion. That finish is definitely the finish of an IPA, not a Stout/Porter. Certainly a novelty brew, this makes a decent change of pace from standard NEIPAs and flavored Stouts. Neither the coconut, nor almond additions are overdone, so this works.

My fourth beer from Decadent Ales, I am not impressed by any beer I have tried. The beer is boutique style IPA's with flavoring in them. The beer is 40 degrees and served in a tulip glass. The head is a bright white frothy and airy, two finger fingers thick. The color of the beer is SRM 4 a pale gold color with a straw yellow hue. The beer is very cloudy with little light penetration. The head dissipated slowly leaving lacing on the glass. The appearance of the beer is excellent for DIPA.
The first initial aroma of the beer is super fruity. Next, I smell, oranges, lemons, pineapple, grapefruit, crackers, toasted sugar, cookies, nutty, and coconut. I enjoyed the aromas of this beer, except it does smell quite sweet.
The flavors in the beer are oranges, mangos, lemons, pineapple, a bit of coconut, bakery bread, sugar, nutty, toasted crackers, and a touch of wood.
The mouthfeel of the beer is creamy and coating.
The body of the beer is full, low carbonation, and a medium finish.
I am perplexed by this beer. When I see DIPA on the label, I am expecting something to that fact. Whether the beer is NEDIPA or WCDIPA, I want that in the taste along with what they are trying to do with the beer. The nose told me the beer was a NEDIPA, but the flavors just fell flat. If I tasted what I smell this beer is on its way for greatness. Now, the double coconut and almond macaroon part of the beer is dead. I hardly got any of those flavors in the beer. This beer, for me, was an utter failure.
