Elderflower mochi has a medium, ivory head, and an opaque, yellow-orange appearance, which really clouds up, following the "swish & pour". There is a good amount of lacing, but it is not thick. The aroma is of pale malt, vanilla, and nectar. There is a similar flavor, with muted bitterness. Elderflower Mochi has a medium body and a sweet finish.

I don't see any date listed on the can.
The can does list this as "Alc. 8.7% by Vol."
Appearance: The beer is a light copper-gold with a medium haze. The head is medium, fluffy, and white with decent retention and lacing.
Aroma: There is a slightly floral aroma to the beer with a light hint of mint. It smells a bit of green tea.
Taste: Confectioner's sugar comes through, then some light herbal green tea and a sweet black tea finish. It has a a powdered sugar flavor at the end. A bit of vanilla rides the underlying flavor. The can calls this "ELDERFLOWER MOCHI" and it tastes a lot like Green Tea Mochi Balls.
Mouthfeel: The beer is smooth and easy to drink with a light bitterness and perfect carbonation.
Overall: This is an odd beer because it tastes just like Green Tea Mochi Balls. The can states that this is a "Double India Pale Ale brewed with Elderflowers and vanilla extract." It is possible that the elderflwoers are giving it a bit of green tea flavor. The vanilla is very apparent and is integral in the overall flavor of this beer. I am over the moon with this beer because I don't believe there is anyone else trying this flavor combo. If you enjoy mochi icecream then you will recognize the powdered sugar and (hopefully) the green tea character. I think this beer is well worth searching for and I would love to enjoy it again.

Going toward floral and Eastern inspirations for a newer type of hazy, smoothie IPA, the Decadent Ales team takes their brewing talents where no beer has gone before: mochi rice and elderflowers.
Honey gold and cast in a pastel haze, Elderflower Mochi builds a tall and creamy column of froth that carries a fruity, floral and spicy scent of hops across the nose. Rife with tropical, citrus and orchard fruit, the taste soon introduces a honey sweet taste backed by the pastry influences of baklava.
As the sweetness and richness of malt and cereal stew on the middle palate, the hops unfold with a citrusy twinge of mandarin orange, lime, pink grapefruit and yuzu. Tropical flavors of apricot and mango bring out a nearly tangy nectarine character before charging into a surprisingly dry and bitter taste of hops that's decorated with lemon pepper, lemongrass and black tea.
Medium bodied and trending drier than expected, the rice and the hops team up to facilitate a drier, spicier and more bitter taste for added drinkability and refreshment. Saki-like spice trails into a medium long bitterness and a floral after palate once more.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 6/2019. Pours very hazy deep golden amber color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, red apple, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, strawberry, elderflower, wood, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, marshmallow, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, elderflower, marshmallow, vanilla, and bready malt notes; with big strength. Taste of big mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, red apple, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, strawberry, elderflower, wood, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, marshmallow, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/zest, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of mandarin orange juice, red grapefruit, lemon, lime, peach, pear, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, red apple, mango, honeydew melon, blueberry, gooseberry, strawberry, elderflower, wood, citrus peel/zest, light peppercorn/pine, marshmallow, vanilla, cream, wheat, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, elderflower, marshmallow, vanilla, and bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and no cloying/astringent hop/elderflower flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky mouthfeel that is great. Slight lingering resins through the glass. Zero warming alcohol for 8.6%. Overall this is an awesome flavored milkshake NEIPA. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical hops, elderflower, marshmallow, vanilla, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to drink for the big ABV, with the mildly bitter/drying finish; great soft feel. Feels like Citra/Mosaic hops as with most of their beers. Awesome balance of juicy, light dank/earthy hops with elderflower, vanilla, and marshmallow flavors; with a great wheat/oat/malt backbone. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and impressive style example as expected. Not as impressive as most of their other NEIPAs, but still delicious.

Served in a Teku glass at the Decadent Brewery in Mamaroneck, NY.
A: Pours a hazy, dark golden color with a less than one finger, white head, decent retention, and limited lacing.
S: Floral. Aromas of caramel, hibiscus, mango, and orange. Resembles something between an orange SweetTart and Necco wafer.
T: Sweet. Palate essentially follow the nose, except resembles the candies described even more than the nose. There is a cumin like bitterness that prevents this from becoming cloying.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation.
O: Really a delicious, almost candy-like beer.
