L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had a yellow / orange color and a cloudy consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Above average lacing.
S: A solid aroma of blueberries (of course), spices, hops, maple syrup, malt, and citrus fruit.
T: Tasted of a decent bit of maple syrup (not cloying at all), some blueberries (a subtle ingredient), a decent bit of spice (cinnamon, to be specific), a nice backbone of citrus fruit (lemon, especially), light malt (muted, but present), and some hops as well. This an interesting flavor that, in general succeeds. Sweet and well-balanced.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth, slightly syrupy finish. Medium-bodied.
O: A solidly made beer. Worth a try,

A - thick haze with minimal foam
S - berries and citrus
T - bready sweet, almost a dessert beer. I finally got the blueberry frenchtoast flavor on the aftertaste
M - very smooth, almost nitro-like. Best part of the beer.

The imagination and quest for the unheard of should come as no surprise to craft beer loyalists. And It should also come as no surprise that the taste of blueberry and french toast would permeate the New England beer scene. But as the Decadent Ales team make exclusively New England styled IPA, I'm not sure that even the craft beer scene saw this combination this coming.
Decanting as a peachy gold and a hazy translucence, the reasonable haze carries a rich lather of eggshell foam that gathers on the surface. Scents of dark berry, maple and pastry crust arise over an undertow of citrus, tropical fruit and fine botanicals. And then the taste picks up on the pastry sweetness first, rounded by cookie dough, toasted fruit tarts and a hint of condensed milk.
Then as the flavors blossom on the middle palate, the malt sweetness provides a creamy offset to the rise of hops. Citrusy with lime, red grapefruit and tangerine, tropical with passionfruit, mango and pineapple; the hops still take center stage on the tastebuds even as the strong suggestion of blueberry and maple syrup swoon about the senses. Moderately bitter, the late palate shows the smooth and herbal nature of gin, matcha tea and dry hemp to complete the sweet and savory breakfast buffet
Medium bodied but creamy and somewhat marshmallowy in mouthfeel, the beer's pastry sweetness and cereal weight hinders the beer's refreshment and drinkability, but the combination of flavors reward the tastebuds with a high degree of savory and seductive flavor, deep into a medium long afterglow of blueberries and french toast, albeit a slightly on the botanical side.
