Decadent Ales

Look: Thick uniform peach-colored haze. The head disappears within seconds, leaving almost no trace of having ever existed. I prefer beers with big heads and pretty lacing. In my opinion I simply can’t rate the appearance any higher, even though the color is very nice.

Smell: Tropical fruit and citrus. Honestly I didn’t spend much time smelling the beer before taking a sip, I just had to taste it!

Taste: The acidity adds a lovely depth of flavor that finishes on a grassy bitterness, balancing the dominant mango and sweet, slightly funky yeast flavors. The flavors that stay on the tongue are superb. Altogether a standout beer.

Feel: Thick without being prickly. Just right for my taste.

Overall: A delicious NEIPA. Decadent Ales really knocked this one out of the park. If it had better head retention it would stay in my fridge all the time.

 

On tap at the brewery.

A - Very hazy golden peach color with thin lacing on the glass.

S - Mango, tangerine, juicy bright citrus.

T - Mango, guava, nectarine and finishes with a lingering spicy fruit rind.

M - Thick, chewy, and leaves the mouth with a nice wet finish.

O - Sits right in the middle of the pack for the style. A recommended try.
