Been a while since I've had a coffee IPA a treat finding this at the vintage estate into a pint glass. pours a rather dirty orange yellow color with very little head. Smell does not have much coffee or hop aroma to it maybe a touch of bitterness and chocolate. Taste is quite crazy you get the bitter taste of an IPA mixed in with some fresh coffee and a finish that has a mild bitter yet sweet chocolate taste. Can't say I tasted anything like this. Body is quite good for 8% It goes down smooth. Overall definitely one of the better decadent beers I have had of late well worth the price

16 oz. Can
Canned On: 01/31/20

Poured into a Trillium glass a pretty nice cloudy pale yellow/orangy color, pretty nice carbonation, with a pretty nice thick/creamy one-finger plus off-white head, which also leaves some pretty nice sticky lacing behind. The nose is hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, mango, peach), with some coffee/chocolate notes, nice diesel like. The taste is pretty nice hoppy, malty, with a pretty nice citrus complex (orange, tangerine, mango, peach), very nice coffee/chocolate note, vanilla sweetness, pretty nice diesel like. Medium body, ABV hidden very nicely, with a nice little dry/bitter finish. Overall, this is a pretty tasty brew. Very nice take on the style, quite different. Well Done! Orange Julius! Addictive! MilkShake! Nice to see it around here.

What a strange and interesting beer. After taking sniff, you get the aroma of all 3 core ingredients: hops, coffee and chocolate. The taste, however, develops in stages. Upfront you get the hoppy IPA flavor, chased immediately by coffee to kill the bitterness then, just when you think its over, the chocolate creeps in and leaves you with a thick, honey-like taste lingering on your tongue. Its not bad, dont get me wrong. Ive just never had anything quite like it. Worth at least dampling if you com across it.

No one lives up to their name like Decadent Ales. And when the put together a coffee IPA it's not going to be your average coffee IPA.

When you hear "coffee" you're not expecting the beer's medium gold, hazy pour. But that's how Mocha Latte decants while building a dense column of foam. A rich scent of cake batter, coffee, chocolate, cream, vanilla and tropical fruit round the nose in great anticipation of the creamy sweet, cereal maltiness that coats the tongue with caramel, shortbread and cereal grains.

As the flavors continue to meld on the middle palate, its sweetness stews gently with the overwhelming taste of cream ale. Over which floats a more robust coffee and cream flavor that shifts the taste to a blond latte taste. Tropical fruits of mango, papaya, pineapple and pawpaw offer a nearly banana-like character while a mild herbal bitterness barely takes an edge off of the sweetness with subtle hints of tea, verbena and cedar.

Full bodied, sweet and much richer than normal IPA, the beer finishes malty-sweet with a simplistic honey and caramel taste that outlasts even the hops and the coffee in a cloying sweet texture and a syrupy aftertaste.

A - Hazy medium gold color with moderately dense white lacing.

S - Sweet mocha chocolate dominates the nose. Very rich and intense.

T - Mocha chocolate sweetness with some light citrus notes. Ends with stronger citrus than chocolate but balanced on the finish.

M - Big medium body.

O - Pretty much "weirdness" in a can.
