DATE: December 4, 2020... OCCASION: a trip to Hazleton ends well and with a needed drink--one to approximate the season... GLASSWARE: HopDevil nonick... pours a soft orange-caramel body, lacking in effervescence once its short, off-white head bubbles off... it leaves an off-white ring and some hazy lily pads... creamy vanilla, light cinnamon, brown ale sugars, toasted malts, allspice and other soft spices that settle the aroma nicely... lagerish in its finish.... smooth, easy-drinking, light and lively... rather thin and slippery, but not bothersome... vanilla, sweet sugars, baked malts approximating a cinnamon bun... not quite a breakfast or a dessert, but not a bad beer overall... fitting for the season, to be sure...

Ale paired with cinnamon and vanilla glaze, not vanilla bean...glaze. Interesting. It ends up being sweet, desserty but since its an ale and not a dessert stout, it manages to be palatably sweet and doable and at 8.5% it wont destroy you after a glass. Its light and refreshing and easy to take down.
