A: Violent carbonation eruption in the vessel nearly makes the glass dance, tearing down the already slim and compact dirty white head in mere seconds. Golden lemon colored body is apt to style, with a passable haze factor.
S: Coconut juice the first evident sign on the nose, fresh, along with some sweet custard pie hints. Pretty good representation here, basic, with a good strength awareness factor.
T: Tart pineapple flavor, a bit sour, along with some stale custard. The grains are clean, not nearly as doughy as some of the donut beers I had. The finish is a bit acidic, tart and comes with dry vanilla.
M: Explosive carbonation as fore mentioned, bubbly eruption is very lively in the glass as well the mouth. Crisp, dancing like sensation, seltzer water like, perhaps distracts from the other characteristics. Medium build.
O: Overall the coconut juice on the nose was decent, if not a tad watered down for my liking, mixing in with some old musky hop character. There was some old lemon and vanilla you would come to expect from day old donuts. In honest I didn't care to much for the flavor, as a standalone its a low to perhaps mid range B at best, lacked exciting points and seemed like day old donut and not fresh.. Per expectations and when compared to other donut beers, this just didn't hit the mark for me in representation and as intended. Old coconut shavings, musky hops and a middle of the road flavor just didn't strike me (full disclosure I am a big coconut fan, which when done good is perhaps a bit over rated, when done not, perhaps a bit under due to my stringent and high expectations). I lost a bit of interest less then 1/4 through. In conclusion if you are looking just for a hop beer with minor accents of coconut, or not really a fan, this will fall into the ok to good category. If you are expecting a big sweet dessert beer, lots of coconut custard cream pie, this will leave you a bit disappointed.
