Pineapple Coconut Smoothie Pina Colada

I have a love-hate relationship with Decadent. Some of their beer is stellar and say what they are; some I do not enjoy them. Decadent does a fine job in persuing the weird combination in beers and making them work well. My palate usually does not agree. With that caveat out of the way, I am proceeding with the review. The beer is 44 degrees, and I used my Jester King tulip glass. The pour is unremarkable with a barely noticeable one-fingered head. The head is airy and foamy with poor retention; furthermore, it did not last nor left any lacing. The color charts around SRM 4, pale straw with light golden hues. This beer is somewhat cloudy, with the occasional carbonation bubbles popping up. A dismal showing for the style of beer, I wanted a longer-lasting head.

I detect coconut, biscuit, pineapple, fruity sweetness, a hint of milk sugars, a touch of floral esters, a skosh of earthiness, and some malty sweetness. The nose is dominated by pineapple and coconut, it is difficult to pull any other aromas.

The flavors in the beer are pineapple, coconut, oranges, grapefruit, floral esters, pine resins, earthiness, malty sweetness, crackers, and lemons.

The mouthfeel of the beer is carbonated, dry, and astringent.

The body of the beer is medium, medium-high carbonation, and has a medium finish.

For me personally, this beer failed. I was expecting a creamy milkshake style IPA with coconut and Pineapple swirled together in lovely cohesion. I did not get any of that. I got a disjointed beer that could have been something. I did not care for this beer.
