Peanut Butter Pancake
Decadent
Package Date: 04/23/2021
These beers scare the hell out of me. I am unsure if I am going to get something delicious or something dreadful. The beer is 46 degrees, and I used a tulip glass to serve it. The pour of the beer created a one-fingered bright white head. The head is airy and foamy with poor retention. No lacing was left on the glass as it dissipated. The pale amber with light golden hues chart around SRM 4. This beer is hazy, with a few carbonation bubbles popping up.

I first detect citrus, maple, pancakes, and peanut butter. What a weird combination. Nosing further, I identify lightly toasted malts, crackers, a hint of floral, fruity sweetness, caramel, and a subtle earthiness.

The flavors in the beer are huge maple and citrus with peanut butter and pancake. Holy Shit, the flavors in this beer are wild. Continuing with tasting, I perceive floral, toasted crackers, bready, and caramel-like sweetness.

The mouthfeel of the beer is carbonated and slightly astringent.
The body of the beer is medium, has medium carbonation, and has a long finish.

This beer tastes like peanut butter pancakes with maple syrup, washing it down with a strong IPA. Simply incredible combinations of flavors in the beer. I think the brewers were trying to achieve this. I could not drink another after this one. I would have to wait a couple days. It has pushed my funkiness to 11.

A: The beer is quite hazy and a bit pale yellow in color. It poured with a half finger high white head that quickly settled down, leaving some patches of bubbles on the surface and a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of peanut butter are present in the nose along with notes of burnt sugar and hints of bananas.
T: The taste has flavors of peanut butter along with notes of citrusy hops and burnt sugar. Only a light amount of bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels a bit more than medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer really packs in the smell and taste of peanut butter but seems like an odd combination for an IPA, especially with the combination of the citrusy hops. It mangos to hide any traces of alcohol very well.
