Yuck. This is just a bitter mess. The aroma is acrid, bordering rotten egg. For all the supposed vanilla added, it’s more like the ground husks in it. I get a slight creaminess that might put in just barely into a milk stout slot. For ~$6/16 oz I expected much better.

L: Pours a dark brunette brew that forms a fairly short-lived caramel head. Fades to a effervescent khaki retention with some nice soapy lacing on the edge of the snifter glass. Held to the light, this beer has an impenetrable carob hue.
S: Roasted malt dominates, with faint aromas of cacao nibs and lactose.
T: The beer is labeled as a milk stout, but I am detecting a heavy roasted malt base with plenty of medium-roast coffee, char, and dark chocolate. There are hints of lactose and vanilla, as well as burnt sugar. Tasty, just mis-labeled.
F: Medium-bodied, a bit thin for my liking. Moderate carbonation. Has a nice roasty aftertaste.
O: This beer is definitely not a true milk stout - I almost wonder if they put the wrong beer into this can. It's a perfectly respectable beer. Great stout base, good flavor, body and aromas are a bit lacking but otherwise a worth purchase.
