A: Pours an almost opaque yet still clear dark mahogany in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate chestnut brown + ruby red + garnet red + amber + dark golden yellow colored highlights. The beer has a three finger tall sudsy foamy tan head that reduces to a couple of small to medium sized patches of very thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Minimal amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Slightly stronger than moderate aromas of toasted + roasted + caramel + bready malts with a moderate amount of light fruit (apple + pear) and caramel sweetness along with hints of peat smoked + chocolate malts. Light aromas of slightly spicy + earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are slightly stronger than moderate flavors of toasted + roasted + caramel + bready malts with a moderate amount of light fruit (apple + pear) and caramel sweetness along with hints of peat smoked + chocolate malts. That is followed by light flavors of slightly spicy + earthy hops which contribute a light amount of bitterness which fades away quickly.
M: Medium bodied with slightly heavier than moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth with a relatively clean finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a relatively clean + smooth mouthfeel. Enjoyable but not quite traditional for the style with the light fruit sweetness.
