On-tap @ Lone Eagle Brewing in Flemington, NJ.
Deep brown color with ruby highlights. Moderate tan head with good retention. Good clarity.
Aroma is very light and subdued, would like to see some of the roasted malt jump out more. Flavor is well balanced, roasted malt and earthy hops. Firm bitterness from both the roast and hops. Easy drinking, medium bodied brew.
Very basic porter overall that checks the boxes for the style but fails to expand on any of them.

Poured into a grip shaped goblet: color is nearly solid black, dark brown edges, head is tan with fine to small bubbles, head presents about 1 inch thick and lingers well with at least a 1 finger thick top and some lacing on the glass.
Smell is light roast, chocolate, malt, earthy hops.
Taste is similar with great chocolate, roast, toasted malt, earthy/grassy hops - a little sweet, a little bitter and simple but very well done.
Mouthfeel is crisp, moderate carbonation, light lingering sweetness followed by light dry bitterness.
Overall a great porter with just enough of the highlighted flavors you seek out in a moderate strength version.

Pours opaque brown/black with a dense tan head that stays for a long time and leaves a massive amount of lacing. Smells like coffee, licorice, chocolate and char. Sweet and tangy with molasses, dark chocolate, coffee and some licorice. Finishes quite bitter with a char and bitter dark chocolate finish. Really flavorful and thick porter.

This beer really surprised me
For a light abv porter it has tons of flavor yet isn't thin bodied and watery. My new favorite porter, even more flavor than Edmund Fitzgerald. A lively porter with coffee and chocolate notes throughout. I still have a few cans in my fridge for future consumption even though I think this is much better fresh
